Welcome to Our New site

Beaucroft Golden Retrievers is a small, select kennels located on 5  acres on the Mornington Peninsula, a south eastern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Beaucroft Kennels was first registered in 1982 with the aim to breed sound, typical Goldens that can fulfill roles not only in the show ring or Obedience but above all, as a loving family companion.

Throughout my early childhood and into my late teens, I was heavily involved with horses in both confirmation shows and dressage but it was during 1976, through a very close friend who was involved with showing and breeding Goldens Retrievers, that I was introduced to this incredible breed. So, my interest and love of this wonderful breed grew and I began to attend some dog shows during the mid to late 70’s and so the bug bit for me to purchase my own Golden to show!!! In 1982 to my delight, I purchased my very own puppy from Queensland as I wanted a pup from their beautiful dog – Aust Ch. Glennessa Ingot (Imp. U.K.) ……………..This magnificent puppy went on to become –
MBISS/MBIS All Breeds Aust. Ch. Ferngold Commodore.

Raffy (or Basil Brush as he was affectionately known to us) was a much loved member of my family. In the show ring he was my dream come true and he went on to be one of Victoria’s and Australia’s Top Winning Golden Retrievers – an honour he still holds to this day, many years after his passing. Most of the “Beaucroft” family of Goldens are descendants of this absolutely remarkable dog. So, for us he lives on through them and will always be part of our life.

My Raffy” as I affectionately called him, is pictured above. This absolutely stunning head study of him has been used in Breed Lecture material, both here and in other states of Australia, as a perfect example of the breed. More recently, Raffy’s photo is going to be featured on the cover of a book “Golden Retrievers – The First Century in the Showring” by Mrs. M. Morphet. We have dedicated this website to him and all his wonderful and treasured memories, they of course will live on forever in our hearts.

Sleep peacefully “My Beautiful Raffy” I know you will be waiting for me one day at “Rainbow Bridge” where we can be together again but this time it will be forever!

“RAINBOW BRIDGE”

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver.

Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes,

so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together……

Remember Our Love
I was chosen today
I’m learning to fly
the world took me away,
but please don’t you cry

And I chose you today
to try and be strong
so please don’t you cry
and don’t say that I’m gone

When you’re feeling alone
just remember our love,
I’m up near the stars
looking down from above.

Remember our love
In a moment you’ll see
that I’m still here beside you
when you’re thinking of me.
